Member Biographies

Michael Adamson (violin)

Michael studied violin and chamber music at the Royal Academy of Music in London, and worked with members of the leading quartets: Griller, Tatrai, Kolisch, Hungarian and Amadeus.  Returning to Canada after a concert career of several years in Europe, he has continued solo, chamber and orchestral activities, including formerly serving as concertmaster for the York Symphony and artistic director for the Apollo Chamber Orchestra.  Currently, he teaches privately in Barrie.
 

Alyssa Wright (cello)

Alyssa is a versatile soloist and ensemble cellist who has toured widely, advocating and performing contemporary, jazz and folk, as well as traditional music.  Formerly acting principal cellist of the Kingston Symphony and principal cellist of Ensemble Unterwegs, she left the orchestral world, preferring to concentrate on the intricacies of chamber music.  She has performed several world premieres, and has been featured on many recordings and stages across Canada.  Alyssa is one half of roots duo The Brights, and is a popular studio and session cellist and singer.  She teaches privately in Barrie, and gives workshops throughout Ontario (and beyond).


Marilyn Reesor (piano)

Marilyn is a concert pianist and organist and an active participant in many recital series held across the country.  A graduate of the Royal Conservatory of Toronto, she holds ARCT's in piano and organ performance and teaching, as well as an ARCCO with the Royal Canadian College of Organists.  As an organist, she has been privileged to perform on the magnificent instruments of some of Canada's largest cathedrals and churches, including St. James Cathedral and St. Paul's on Bloor Street in Toronto, and most recently, St. Paul's Cathedral in London, England.  She is currently the Director of Music at St. John Vianney Church and Am Shalom Congregation in Barrie.
